Subject: ***DO NOT REPLY***UTIL- AUGUST 8, 2023 UPDATE
***DO NOT REPLY***
SENT ON BEHALF OF JOHN TURNER
Over the long weekend, the Union has been meeting with KSV Restructuring regarding the future of UTIL Canada and our members. There was discussion of potentially resuming production in some capacity to fill existing orders.
It is very important to take any recall that comes available. Not accepting a recall could lead to a denial of future EI entitlement.
If not recalled within 7 days from termination, you should apply for financial assistance from EI and WEPP thru Service Canada. A claim must be started within 28 days.
We are in a period of uncertainty, but rest assured, we are doing everything in our control to make sure everything is done to help our members.
Local 112’s intention is to have the current CBA honored as well assist those members when needed. We are providing information directly on our website that will be updated as new information becomes available. https://www.unifor112.ca/unit/util/ .
